TenderSearch supports IT industry

The Australian IT Summit and IT Awards celebrate the expertise, professionalism and major contributions made by individuals and organisations involved with IT and telecommunications. The Awards are voted by the industry for the industry, in recognition of organisations that provide superior service or contributions to the Australian IT&T industry.

The Awards are considered the most exciting event on the IT&T calendar. The industry's best gathered in Sydney in November last year to celebrate 2002 and recognise the movers and shakers of the Australian IT&T industry.

As the major Gold Sponsor of the inaugural awards, TenderSearch proudly acknowledges the value of the event in recognising excellence in the provision of IT products and services.

"The Awards provided an occasion to recognise and reward a number of IT companies, many of which are TenderSearch subscribers, in what was a difficult year for the IT sector," said Matthew Whitehouse, TenderSearch Marketing Manager.

"It was also a great opportunity to catch up with clients and share information on the tender market and listen to a range of speakers from both the private and government sectors."

Johan van Maanen, TenderSearch Tender Preparation Consultant, joined an array of specialist speakers who gave their predictions for the future of the IT industry. With the outlook for the next 12 months placing a greater emphasis on contracts won through the tender process, Mr van Maanen revisited the fundamentals of a competitive tender response.

The IT industry is expected to undergo a boom in the government in 2003. Areas in which TenderSearch is seeing an increase are IT security, defence, education (E learning in particular), government administration systems, including converting paper records to electronic, online solutions (for instance, making information on building permits available on the web) and IT involvement with Public Private Partnerships.
